Shamanic Ceremonies
Every ceremony is a jewel in the endless net
of interconnections. Your participation nurtures
belonging, harmony, and generosity.
Ceremonies are an act of love and celebration. They embody the connections we share with all beings, elements, spirits, ancestors, and sacred places.
Creating ceremony is a wondrous experience! Ceremonies help you focus on your visions. They are a way to engage symbolic, metaphysical energies as well as our human ideas as we bridge the two worlds.
Why Do Ceremony?
At the deepest level, ceremony is an opportunity for you to experience the essential unity of all things, the living energy universe.
Bringing community together, keeping balance with ancestors and spirits, and transforming problematic situations are the essential focus of indigenous ceremonies across the world.
Similarly, for my community ceremonies—like equinox, solstice, and despachos—I draw on indigenous training and spirit-guided, intuitive ideas to craft each healing, community-building, and change-making ceremony.
These kinds of ceremonies help you align your sacred love, power and vision—guiding you to deepen your reciprocal relationships with the spirits of the land and nature. They help you enter a space of transformation and heart connection, shift your energy and consciousness, and flow into the web of life that surrounds and nurtures you.
Ceremonies for personal transformation likewise draw on the living energies, spirits, and ancestors as they heal and harmonize you, your family, your community, and the world.

Meg works with couples who want their bonding ceremony to integrate nature and spirit without traditional religious overtones. Depending on your needs, there are two ways to engage:
Meet on an hourly basis, as needed, for planning assistance and ideas—crafting vows, readings, and the participation of friends in your ceremony—along with my officiating.
Use a package that gives you support, guidance, and encouragement as you dive into your commitment, desires, questions, along with standard couples’ issues—finances, expectations about household duties and childcare sharing if appropriate, economic agreements, and so on. You’ll understand and work out your agreements, expectations, and differences before you create your dream ceremony. (I wish I’d had this kind of help before I married!)
This package also includes help crafting vows, readings, the participation of friends in your ceremony, and my officiating.
As an ordained minister I can officiate and guide your ceremony, file the official documents, and make it legal.

Yes! Creating ceremony is a way of expanding, bridging, and making connection beyond our small groups, our small worlds. It lets us experience the power of focused energy and group connection, and the joy of shared intent.
Creating and participating in ceremony teaches you about energy fields, expands your experience of gratitude, and empowers your mediating and change-making skills.
Whether you are planning a wedding, celebration, or Earth-honoring ritual, I help you articulate your intent—for yourselves, the other participants, the larger world—and help you craft structure, experiences, and words to make it beautiful and full of spirit.

Medicine walks and vision quests are a way to listen for messages from nature and spirit as you seek guidance. You receive what’s called direct revelation—messages just for you, directly from all the living beings you see on your medicine walk.
When you are ready for a medicine walk, I help you identify your central issue and your intent. I guide you on shamanic journeys to clarify and prepare.
You begin your half-or full-day walk in my medicine wheel, then go into nature (on my land or a safe space elsewhere) with specific tasks I’ve provided. I support you from a distance as you walk.
We meet afterwards to interpret and clarify your messages. You may do some artwork, singing, dancing, or drumming to express your messages and carry them into the world.
It’s a wonderful, calming way to seek and receive guidance from the trees, animals, vistas, birds and insects you see along the way.
How to get started? Make an appointment to explore what you want in your quest. We’ll go from there.
Fun Fact: At the end of a four-day Prayer Walk on Mt. Diablo, we noticed a Praying Mantis in the middle of our trail—an omen we took to mean our prayers had been received!

A transfiguration ceremony helps you connect with your source energy, enter the internal void, and become light. I teach you to tone to hold the energy of the transfigured state, and learn to let your energy travel into the world as vibrational healing. In the transfigured state, you generally experience others as light beings and may feel or see energy.
In learning to transfigure into your essence, you uncover what is already present in you: your shining divinity and your inner authority.
Once you learn to transfigure, you can apply it in your personal life and practice to see any problem, issue, person, or place in its divine perfection. The effect is simila to a Buddhist Metta practice.
Experiencing this changes your response and your perception. It helps you address your feelings of separation and disconnection as you step into the sense of oneness with all.
The ancient principle, "it is who we become that changes the world," is the basis for these ceremonies. They have been rebirthed into the modern world by Sandra Ingerman—through her Medicine for the Earth and Healing with Spiritual Light teachings—and carried forth by her students around the world.
This powerfully transformative work which:
Helps you discover your essence.
Empowers you to transmute toxins of mind and matter, both internal and external.
Helps you bypass judgment and dualistic thinking.
Gives you a grounded sense of connection with the Divine in all things.
Helps you explore the space-void-field of unlimited possibilities.
Teaches you how to be present with all that is.
Reconnecting and realigning yourself, you will shine with the beauty, harmony, love, and divinity at the root of all transformation.

If you have traveled in a sacred way to the Andes in Peru, Bolivia, or Ecuador, you have probably experienced a despacho ceremony.
A traditional Quechua ceremony of offering to Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the apus (mountains) in reciprocity and connection, a despacho is an act of love. It is an embodiment of the connections we share with all beings, elements, spirits, and sacred places. At the deepest level, it is an opportunity for you to enter into the essential unity of all things, the living energy of the universe.
The healing intention of a particular despacho—such as bringing harmony and balance to the earth, making connections with the star beings, honoring new beginnings, or getting rid of an illness—determines the sacred geometry of the offering as well as the contents.
At every stage of construction a despacho is beautiful; when complete, it becomes a shimmering mandala of energy and intent. When it is burned (or buried) it releases heavy, disorganized energy (hucha) and transmutes it into light, refined, harmonious energy (sami)—gifted to the mountains (apus) and traveling to all corners of the universe.
Talk to me if you’re interested in creating a personal despacho, or come to one of the ceremonies that I offer to the community.

The Rites of Munay-Ki are energetic transmissions and initiations from a spiritual and cosmological lineage thousands of years old, maintained by the Qero/Inca people in the Peruvian Andes.
Offered in ceremony, they give you both spiritual protection and deepening connection with ancestors, earth, mountains, stars, and the time to come.
In Andean wisdom teaching, the Munay-Ki are seed initiations to help you become a being of wisdom and power who accepts the stewardship for all of creation. The Munay-Ki Rites help you:
Cleanse your luminous energy field.
Break free from old stories, karma, genetic drama, and ego.
Have the courage to dream a different world.
Prepare you to become homo luminous, one who will live in her transcendent nature, free of fear.
Jump-start your awareness and invite destiny to unfold in your life.
Make quantum leaps of consciousness and perception.
Move into the transcendence of the Fifth World.
Receiving energetic transmissions is a path for moving out of the limits of your single human mind and accessing the wisdom of the cosmos. After your initial experience—receiving the rites—you begin a process of integration, putting-into-practice, embodiment, and refining. Learning to nourish and embody the seeds of Munay-Ki is an essential part of the process of becoming.

This is a good question.
At four I was organizing funerals for family dogs and dead birds we found, honoring them in my childlike way as we buried them in a special plot under a long row of trees at the edge of my aunt’s yard. Where did that interest come from? I don’t know, but my curiosity continued.
I began creating solstice and equinox rituals with friends. Drawing on imagination alone (we had no training), we sought to step back into nature connection and step aside from our disconnected spiritual upbringings.
Learning to reclaim old Celtic ways, celebrate the Celtic wheel of the Year, and becoming a Priestess of the Goddess in my forties gave me extensive ritual experience and tools to empower my visioning.
Then, when I first experienced a despacho—a traditional Andean offering—with Américo Yábar, I was immediately drawn to their power in focusing intent, calling in the spirit of everything, and honoring the mountains and stars.
I was honored to participate in and experience many despachos with the Q’ero paqos in my multiple visits to sacred sites and mountains in Andes of Peru, and during their visits to the US. I began to share this tradition in my extended community.
Sometimes in my medicine wheel, and sometimes on the sacred mountains around the San Francisco Bay, I led groups in creating ayni (reciprocity) despachos, focusing on the despacho’s transformative possibilities for our relationship with the earth.
I continued with creating community despachos for gratitude, dreaming, forgiveness, grief, balance, creation, solstice, and equinox.
When the star beings began to call me, I learned from spirit how to create star (ch’aska) despachos, in the Andean tradition of calling on those beings for help in times of great need—like now. I wrote about and encouraged others around the world to offer star (ch’aska) despachos; learn more in the Despacho Guide on my Writing page.
